Across India, tuberculosis (TB) persists as a silent killer, claiming nearly 3,00,000 lives annually as per WHO estimates. According to India TB Report 2024, Out of 1.93 crore presumptive TB patients tested at 24,573 microscopy centers, only 5.83 lakh (3%) were diagnosed with TB. This significant gap reveals that 7.5% to 10.5% of potential TB cases go undetected, transmitting and contributing to the disease’s rapid spread.

Smear Microscopy
